WELCOME Mrs. Atkins! The LHSD welcomes LHS alum, Melissa Atkins, as a LHS Business Education Teacher. In her new role, she teaches Small Business Management, Marketing, Electronic Communications, and the new Chieftain Spotlight Initiative Course. She is a graduate of Hocking College with an Associate of Business degree in Office Administration, and holds a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University in Business Education, and a Masters in Education from The University of Dayton.
We welcome Mrs. Boggs! We know our LHSD community will join in welcoming Shari Boggs, as a new Assistant Principal at LHS. Shei is thrilled to become part of the team, as she brings 23 years of experience in the education profession, with this being her first administrative role. She is a proud product of Southeastern Ohio and a graduate of Alexander High School, so she feels very much at home in the Logan area and with the community, staff and students.

At Monday's BOE meeting, Mr. Bainter shared how well received the idea was to have our upperclassmen greet the younger students on their first day of school. Here is the widely popular video we posted on the district's Facebook page. Currently, we have 464 likes, 71 positive comments, 191 shares & over 16,000 reached, which validates what a difference a kind gesture can make, or as Mr. Bainter said, "This didn't cost us a penny, but it sure went a long way!".
To kick off a new cheerleading season, 9th Grade Coach, Vikki Kuhn & Junior Varsity Coach, Lisa Snider, planned a team bonding night, with the 9th & JV Cheerleaders. The well received evening was held at Adventure Golf at Rempel's Grove, followed by ice cream at Treehouse Treats & Treasures. According to the coaches, the girls had a blast playing for a hole in one (which meant they could skip one lap at practice). Five girls came away with the lucky lap.
1st Day of School Greetings on Thursday, August 23rd. Logan Upperclassmen are being asked to do something very special to help the younger students start their year off positively, by greeting them on their first day of school. We would like to invite junior and senior students to be part of opening day for our elementary, middle school, and freshmen students. We are encouraging junior and senior students to sign up to greet students at one or more of the buildings on Thursday, August 23rd.
