On Monday we will experience an amazing scientific event – A Solar Eclipse. We understand the opportunity our students have to witness this event. Our teachers have been educating our students on the dangers of looking up at the sun during the eclipse. The solar eclipse is scheduled to peak in our area during dismissal time. Chromebooks will be distributed to Logan High School students by grade level the week of Aug. 21st, 2017. Grade 9 chromebooks will be passed out Monday, Aug. 21st, grade 10 Tuesday, Aug. 22nd, grade 11 Wednesday, Aug. 23rd, and grade 12 Thursday, Aug. 24th. Chromebook insurance will be available to purchase for $40.00. Coverage and repairs will be handled through the LHSD Technology Dept.
Seniors, make sure to get your meningococcal vaccine completed and submit the record to the school nurse, Mrs. Kathy Kennard. This vaccine is mandated for school age students and must be done by the start of a student's senior year. We need the record before September 8, 2017 or students can be excluded from school due to non-compliance. The Logan High School Department of Theatre will host a concert featuring the songs from the musical Godspell on Friday, August 25th at 7:30pm in the LHS Theatre. Featured Logan vocalists will include Jarrod Turnbull, John McClain, and Gracie Miller, along with vocalists from around the central Ohio area.
More than 240 Ohio high school students representing more than 50 counties and over 140 schools throughout the state will serve on the Ohio Teen Ambassador Board. Two of those students are from Logan High School! Please congratulate Elle and Nicholas for being chosen to represent high school students across the state of Ohio with the Attorney General Mike DeWine's office. We are proud of you!
