We want to give a huge shout out to Neil Hinton for coming to Central Elementary. He presented to our Elementary/Middle School Digital Academy today on the different types of energy, focusing on solar energy. Mr. Hinton brought with him different types of robotics that worked by air, solar and carbon. The students were permitted to try the various equipment. He left us with a solar powered turtle and car. Thank you Mr. Hinton for your time, knowledge and expertise!
The Elementary/Middle Digital Academy was busy the week of March 5th. First they had a Virtual Field trip to a pig farm hosted by GrowNextGen. The students had a tour of a pig farm and were able to ask questions of the farmer. GrowNextGen sent us books to read to prepare for the trip and we even had follow up activities. Our Digital students are becoming poets. Incorporated into our Studies Weekly, students will often do a little extra and complete the ELA assignments as well. This student went that extra mile and wrote a poem. Great job!
The Elementary/Middle School Digital Academy was finally able to celebrate Valentine's day. Students came to Central Elementary where the Elementary/Middle School Digital Academy is housed and we circulated through centers for our party. Students made crafts, played some games, read stories and ate goodies.
