Pierce & Fickel Selected as LHS' American Legion Buckeye Girls State Delegates

Congratulations, Rachel & Lexis!

Rachel Pierce and Lexis Fickel were selected to serve as Logan High Schoolís 2018 American Legion Buckeye Girls State (BGS) delegates. The selection criteria includes: completion of junior year, impressive leadership qualities, high moral character, above average academics, an interest in government/current events, and the desire to learn. The week-long program is held in June, at University of Mount Union, in Alliance, Ohio. Per the programís website, the mission of BGS is to teach young women the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of good citizenship. All attendees are given the opportunity to learn about and become a part of the city, county, state government process, at an accelerated pace. Pierce chose the role of Deal City Treasurer, while Fickel tested her knowledge as State Court of Appeals Judge.
