LHS Students Visit OU to Explore Options for Their Futures

On Friday, December 1, eleven LHS juniors took advantage of a field trip opportunity and spent the day at McCracken Hall, on the campus of Ohio University, in Athens.

Ohio University has a program which assists area high school students who may be considering, or could benefit from, college or additional training after their high school graduation.

The topics covered were:
-Career interests and how additional education or training might be part of their career goals
-Study skills needed to be successful in college
-Different options for continuing education, and how to apply to adult training programs, 2-year technical degrees, or 4-year bachelorís degrees
-Financial assistance options, what is available, and how to apply
-How technology (including assistive technology) is used
-How to communicate with the office of student accessibility services when in college
