We want to recognize the student of the month nominees for January. These students are role models at Chieftain and model being responsible citizens. They are the students who do the right thing even when no one is looking.
Chieftain Elementary recognized the student of the month nominees at our December PTO meeting. We are proud to have students who make good choices, are kind and are role models to others.
As staff prepares to head back to work tomorrow, and students enjoy their last day before they return on Thursday, we invite you to take a look at these albums from each school, beginning with Chieftain Elementary, who knows how to create holiday fun! Chieftain Elementary was on a brief lockout this afternoon to allow law enforcement to investigate a comment made by a student about a potential threat. Law enforcement has concluded their investigation and there is no threat. The Lockout has been lifted and Chieftain is now running on a normal schedule. Chieftain students don't get to take many walking field trips but we do have a secret path that takes us straight to Walker farm. All preschoolers and Mrs. Fetherolf and Mr. Montgomery's class went to the pumpkin farm last week. They were able to do the corn maze, a hay ride and they all got a pumpkin. The teachers plan lessons that focus on the pumpkin life cycle and lots of math lessons with weight, measurement and counting the pumpkin seeds. They even made pumpkin smoothies in Mrs. Fether...
Chieftain Elementary recognizes students who show cooperation, honesty, independence, effort, friendliness and safety on a daily basis. These student were honored at our last monthly PTO meeting and received a medal.
Chieftain students are off to a great start. We honored our student of the month nominees at our first PTO meeting on Thursday, September 6. These students are role models and set a great example in their classrooms each day. We are proud of them!
Please Note: Chieftain Elementary and the Logan Opportunity School will be conducting a required safety drill tomorrow, Friday, May 11th. The Hocking County Sheriff's Department and the Logan Fire Department will be participating in this drill. The drill will be simulating a chemical spill scenario.
