The Chieftain Elementary Veterans day assembly, scheduled for Tuesday November 12th, will now be held at 2:00pm due to the late start.
Students in fourth grade at Chieftain Elementary were visited by Josh Hodson, Jeremy Young and Jacob Shepherd from Hocking County EMS. Students reviewed how to respond to an emergency situation, practicing CPR compressions and learning how to use the school's AED.

On Friday, October 18, the 4th graders at Chieftain Elementary went to Boch Hollow Nature Preserve in Bremen, Ohio.
Our first grade has adopted Kroger as their community partner. Mrs. Kelsey Kuhar from Kroger came to meet with our 1st grade students. She discussed the following with them: the life cycle of an apple, the nutrients and health benefits from apples, the different types of apples, and the history of apples.
Chieftain Elementary would like to thank the Logan Fire Department for providing our students a fire safety presentation. Students in Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade were able to learn important fire safety rules and procedures. The assembly was educational and entertaining!
Congratulations to Madelyn Argabright for being named "Jr. Deputy" of the month. Madelyn did an amazing job practicing our school "Chiefs" behaviors. Each month Deputy Cowgill will pick a student from Chieftain Elementary that is demonstrating:, c-cooperation, h- honesty, i- independence, e- effort, f- friendliness, s-safety.
2019/2020 Chieftain Elementary student council members:
This letter is to inform you that Chieftain Elementary will be changing its pick-up and drop-off traffic route. This change will take place on Monday, September 16th. Since the beginning of the school year, Deputy Cowgill and I have been working on a solution to the “Drop-off/Pick-up”. Ultimately, our goal is to make the process safer for students and their families.
Chieftain Elementary conducted their first PTO meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 5th. PTO approved their budget for the upcoming school year and "Students of the Month " were recognized.
