The Logan-Hocking Middle School Spelling Bee was held on Tuesday, January 10th in the LHMS Theater. 30 spellers competed to be named the LHMS Spelling Bee Champion. The spelling bee went over 20 rounds to name a spelling bee champion. Mrs. Shaw’s Transitions and Careers 8th Grade class worked together for residents at a local nursing home. During this holiday season, FCCLA members wanted to send some holiday cheer to our community senior citizens by making 125 Holiday Greeting Cards. The LHMS Candy Bar Sale has concluded and students sold over 30,000 candy bars. This fundraising project raises funds for the LHMS PTO each year. Top sellers from each grade level are awarded cash prizes for their efforts. The 12 top sellers sold 6,830 candy bars. Top 5th grade sellers were Emilee Michel, Brandon Boals, and Clayton Thomas. Connor Davis is a 6th grade student here at LHMS.  Prior to Thanksgiving, Connor collapsed at the Logan Chieftain Center due to cardiac arrest.  Thanks to the quick action of bystanders and the Logan Chieftain Center staff, Connor was able to be resuscitated.  Connor was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital and was in ICU for several days.  Connor now has a defibrillator placed in his chest and his life is forever changed.  T-Shirts have been designed to help raise some funds for the fa...
Behind all those Student Council members is a very nice stack of canned goods donated by the seventh and eighth grade students. Last Friday, December 3rd, was the Student Council 7th and 8th grade dance, "A December to Remember". The Student Council decided that instead of collecting money to enter the dance that we would collect canned goods. Admission to the dance was two cans of food or $3.00. The Logan-Hocking Middle School Student Run Credit Union is going strong. Promotions are ran each week with students getting incentives for making deposits in their accounts.
