“BREAKFAST” – Your child’s start to a great education!

Extensive research in recent years has determined that for a child to maximize their learning potential, a good breakfast is essential. We’ve all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, which is true. Fuel for the body and brain in the morning is the kick-start a person needs to:

1. Pay better attention;
2. Higher test scores;
3. Better attendance;
4. Less likely to be overweight

Children and adolescents who eat breakfast show improved learning and better health over those who skip the meal, according to a summary of 47 research articles published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.

The Logan-Hocking School District hopes that all parents/guardians will support “breakfast for students” whether at home or at school. At school, a hot breakfast or cereal is served everyday along with fruit or juice and milk for just $1.25.

Free and reduced lunch participants are also entitled to a free or reduced breakfast.

So, let’s get the ball rolling towards a great education with a strike at breakfast.
