If you drive by Worthington Park, in Downtown Logan, you will see the Gazebo area is temporarily decked out in blue. Pinwheels and bows have been placed in support of April being National Child Abuse Prevention Month. According to the Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office, in Hocking County in 2018: 609 reports of child abuse or neglect were made to children services – 340 resulted in investigations. There were 735 victims of crime – 82 were children.

Per the HCFB's Facebook Page, Ag Days is a two-day free event with displays for the whole family. Learn about agriculture, both past and present, & hear from speakers, plus interact with live animals, enjoy tractor pulls and children’s activities.

The BJ Hughes Memorial Scholarship Fund will be having a Mother's Day Brunch Paint Party May 11th, at 11am at the Steel Workers Union Hall.
The Chieftain Athletic Boosters are sponsoring a fundraiser open to all school affiliated teams/organizations and clubs. The 3 Mile Moonlight Chieftain Challenge will be held on Friday, May 17th at 6pm, in the stadium parking lot and Chieftain stadium.

The evening’s purpose was to offer the community a full update on the district's progress, since last year's Safety Forum. Per Ohio Department of Education's website, April is Alcohol Awareness Month and it's the perfect time to talk to kids. Alcohol is the most commonly used addictive substance among adolescents. With its many dangers, underage drinking should never be taken lightly. The month of April has been designated Alcohol Awareness Month as an opportunity to focus attention on America’s #1 health problem. Alcohol is the most commonly used addictive substance among adolescents in our country. As much as we hear in the media about the rise in popularity of popping pills and smoking marijuana, alcohol remains young people’s top drug of choice.
April is designated the Month of the Military Child to recognize and thank children from military families for the sacrifices they make. During the month, one day is selected as the day to “Purple Up! For Military Kids”. The goal of Purple Up! is for military youth to feel the support they have in their school and extended community.
