Tomorrow, May 7th, is National Teacher Appreciation DAY! In fact, it's National Teacher Appreciation WEEK through Friday. In the April Board of Education meeting, the board designated this week as Teacher & Employee Week in this community! We extend a sincere THANK YOU to all our LHSD dedicated teachers & staff! Your daily commitment to our students & overall impact on them does not go unnoticed.
Logan residents and visitors are in luck, as the LHSD students are, once again, spreading their artwork throughout the community! Currently, the district is showcasing the artistic talents of elementary and middle school students in THREE impressive exhibits. If you're heading downtown May 2-5, to be a part of the Urban Air® ​Astronomical Adventure, we encourage you to stop in & see the art along the way!
The Logan Hocking Instrumental Music Department will be presenting the Annual Spring Concert on Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Logan High School Theatre. Pre-concert music will be presented by the L.H.S. Jazz Band beginning at approximately 6:20 p.m. Admission to the concert is $2 for students (excluding band students grades 6-12) and $3 for adults.

Hocking County 4-H is offering three different summer opportunities for kids! 4-H Cloverbud Camp Flyer Ages 5 and in Kindergarten through Second Grade, as of January 1, 2019 Beg/Jr 4-H Camp Flyer Ages 8 and in Third Grade through age 13, as of January 1, 2019 Sew Fun Clinics Flyer Age 8 and in Third Grade, or older, as of January 1, 2019. All youth, of the appropriate age, are welcome to participate. Membership in 4-H is not a requirement to participate.

This year, LHSD Purple Up! Day will be celebrated on Friday, April 26, 2019. We encourage the community to show support of our youngest heroes by wearing purple. We extend our appreciation for their service and celebrate them by wearing purple, in an effort to say “Thank You.”
Central Elementary and St. John Elementary will be closed today, 4-23-19 due to the threat in downtown Logan. All other Logan-Hocking Schools will be open and running on Lockout Status. There was no specific threat toward any Logan Hocking School and the suspect is currently in custody. Again, closing of Central Elementary was a precautionary measure due to the proximity of our students to the situation.
The Lockout for all Logan-Hocking Schools has been lifted. Central Elementary however will remain closed for the day. The Closure and Lockout were precautionary measures as there were no threats made toward any Logan-Hocking School. All school activities/ sporting events will be held as scheduled.
