LHMS Mathcounts Team Competes
Logan-Hocking Middle

The Logan Middle School MathCounts team traveled to Ohio University on Saturday, February 22nd, for the regional MathCounts competition. The team members include: Zach Aldridge, Isaiah Bookman, Campbell Kernen, Blayke Nutter, Nathan Simms, Logan Keck, Jonah McAfee, and Isabelle Stowe. Colton Hamilton and Avery Moore were unable to be at the competition but are members of the team. There were 7 different schools represented at the competitive comprised of about 53 individual Mathletes. The competition itself consists of four different rounds; sprint, target, team and countdown. Logan Keck placed 3rd in the sprint round. In the target round, Blayke Nutter places 2nd and Isaiah Bookman places 1st. The countdown round takes the top 10 competitors of the day and they go head to head. Isaiah Bookman won the countdown round. Logan had the following finishers within the top 10: Isabelle Stowe (7th), Logan Keck (6th), Blayke Nutter (4th) and Isaiah Bookman (1st). Logan MS came up just short in the team round with a 2nd place finish, behind Athens. Both Isaiah and Blayke have advanced to the state competition which will be held on March 7th at Columbus State Community College. All of our students did a fantastic job and we are very proud of them!
