Logan High School
Submitted by: Paul Shaw/Dani Bell

On Behalf of the Logan-Hocking Local Board of Education and the Logan-Hocking Local School District, I would like to invite you to a historic event.

A new 70’ flagpole, 15’ by 25’ flag and Prisoner of War/Missing in Action chair dedication ceremony will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2019 at 8:30 am at Logan High School Chieftain Stadium (the football stadium). This will be a once in a lifetime ceremony where we dedicate the new flagpole (doubled in size) and the memorial chair and plaque for our POWs/MIAs at the Veterans’ Wall.

The Ceremony will include the Robert Dee Gabriel Hocking County Color Guard, the Logan High School (LHS) Band and Chamber Singers, the new LHS Cadet Core, the Hocking County Honor Guard, playing of Taps by buglers Megan Danison and Julia Ly, dedication of the POW/MIA chair by Phil Lightfoot, and concludes with a Military Tribute by LHS TV2 students.

Thank you to all who have helped organize and who will be participating in this event, especially the numerous veteran organizations in our area and the numerous staff members and students in our school district. We are so blessed! A special thanks too goes out to Stimmel Construction, Gene’s Sign Company, EJ Harris and our maintenance staff, and our architects at VSWC that worked so hard to get this done in time!

Let there be no doubt that when people come to our Logan-Hocking School District and our community that they leave knowing that we continue to honor our veterans, those who have supported them, our flag and our country. May God bless you and may God continue to bless the United States of America.
