Celebrate Purple Up! Military Kids Day - April 26
Submitted by: Dani Bell
April is designated the Month of the Military Child to recognize and thank children from military families for the sacrifices they make. During the month, one day is selected as the day to “Purple Up! For Military Kids”. The goal of Purple Up! is for military youth to feel the support they have in their school and extended community.
This year, LHSD Purple Up! Day will be celebrated on Friday, April 26, 2019. We encourage the community to show support of our youngest heroes by wearing purple. We extend our appreciation for their service and celebrate them by wearing purple, in an effort to say “Thank You.”
Why purple? Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is the combination of Army green, Marine red, and Coast Guard, Air Force, and Navy blue.
If you know any military connected youth, consider taking a moment to recognize and honor them for their service to our nation.
