On Thursday, March 7, 2019, the Chief Logan FFA Agricultural Mechanic Skills
team traveled to New Lexington High School to compete in the district contest. The team qualified for the state contest by placing second to New Lexington. During the contest the students completed 10 stations which include areas of precision measuring, AC and DC electricity, tool identification, part identification, engine repair, welding, oxy-acetylene torching, fastener identification, drilling and tapping a hole, etc. The team was led by junior, Collin Rimkus who placed third individually, followed by sophomore, Erik Stufflebeam and sophomore, Blake Jordan, with Bethany Starlin as alternate. Since the team placed within the top two they will be advancing to the state contest at The Ohio State University, ATI Campus in Wooster, Ohio. A job well done by these students, and good luck in the state contest on April 5, 2019.
