The Logan High School Athletic Department and Wrestling Program hosted for the first time the OAC Elementary Wrestling State Qualifier Tournament on Jan 27th. The event drew 400 wrestlers and 1000 spectators from all over Ohio to Logan High School.
Approximately 75 volunteers assisted event manager Kelly Helber in making the event run smoothly. The Athletic Boosters along with athletes and parents provided a full menu concession. Many parents, coaches and fans commented on how beautiful our facility was and how friendly everyone had been, not only the event workers but the community.
Sleep Inn and Baymont hotels partnered in donating $10 from every room that was booked for the event. The Chamber of Commerce had welcome bags for all wrestlers that included information about our town and the Hocking Hills along
with coupons from area businesses.
Overall, the tournament was a success and it is anticipated to become an annual event which will benefit our schools, boosters and community.
Kelly Helber and Athletic Director Theresa Schultheiss want to thank all the volunteers who gave up their Saturday night and Sunday to help.
