Chief Logan FFA Places in Top Four in District

The Chief Logan FFA Novice Parliamentary Procedure team placed fourth in the Ohio FFA District 10 Career Development Event, on Thursday, November 29, 2018, held at River Valley High School. The team consisted of President - Maddie Burns, Vice President - Brooke Lindsey, Secretary - Coen Starner, Treasurer - Jonathan Hastings, Reporter - Emily Stine, Sentinel - Mikkel Matheny, Student Advisor - Sydney Ogle, Member - Christian Blount and Alternate - Kenton Nester. The team was given three main motions and five parliamentary abilities to demonstrate how to properly run a meeting according to Robertís Rules of Order. All of the members did an excellent job. District 10 is one of the strongest districts in the nation. They have had the state winning team for the past four years. Each year the team from District 10 has placed in the top ten in the nation.
New Lexington placed first, they were followed by River Valley, Gallipolis, Logan, and Federal Hocking to round out the top five. This contest is for seventh, eighth and ninth grade students only. The top two teams advance to the State competition.
