Full-Scale Safety Exercise Scheduled for Central Elementary
Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at an Unknown Time

What does this mean?
This exercise is a PRACTICE DRILL only.

The district has collaborated with local public safety agencies, to conduct this exercise. The following agencies will be responding as if a real incident has occurred: Logan Police Department, Hocking County Sheriff’s Department, Logan Fire Department & Hocking County EMS

ODOT & the State Highway Patrol will participate, by reporting to the location where the closing would be, but roads will not actually be closed.

Some students will be outside the building for a short period of time.

There will be signage out front of the school stating “Law Enforcement Training”

Before and after the practice drill, staff members will have grade-level appropriate conversations with the students about the purpose of the exercise.

The Goal:
To measure response time internally of students and staff, as well as actual time for outside responders to arrive.
To identify areas of improvement, should an actual emergency occur.

Please Note:
US Homeland Security requires these type of exercises. A drill will be scheduled for each school building in the Logan-Hocking School District during the 2018-19 school year.

Questions should be directed to Mrs. VanHorn, Principal - Central Elementary
