READERS' THEATER - To Go With the Flow
Central Elementary
Submitted by: Mrs. Van Horn

Mrs. Shaw’s 4th grade Language Arts class at Central Elementary practiced Speaking and Listening by preparing for and delivering the play, To Go with the Flow.Students volunteered for different parts and then told the story of a 9 year old girl who discovered the adventure of a lifetime on a flatboat journey down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers in the 1830s. Students practiced projecting their voices and reading with inflection. Some students were assigned as the “sound effects people” and they had the incredibly important job of making chicken, horse, and cow noises on cue. All in all, To Go with the Flow was a great success, and students will be performing many more Readers’ Theater plays in the future!
