Chief Logan FFA Competes in Public Speaking

On Tuesday, February 13th, the Chief Logan FFA chapter competed in the District 10 Public Speaking contests at Vinton County High School. The chapter had four students competing in different events which included Creed, Advanced Creed, Beginning Prepared, and Advanced Prepared speaking. Heidi McGrady participated in the Creed speaking contest, which involves delivering the FFA Creed and answering questions about the creed. Morgan Spencer participated in the Advanced Creed speaking contest, which also involves delivering the FFA
Creed and answering questions about the creed. Caitlyn Myers competed in the Beginning Prepared speaking contest which also involves delivering a memorized speech that is between five to seven minutes. Bethany Starlin competed in the Advanced Prepared speaking contest, which involves delivering a six to eight minute speech that has been written and memorized ahead of time. For the second year in a row, all of the Chief Logan students placed in the top three. Starlin placing first in Advanced Prepared, Myers placing third in Beginning Prepared, Spencer placing first in the Advanced Creed speaking, and McGrady placing first in the Creed speaking. Starlin, Spencer, and McGrady will be traveling to Marysville High School to compete in the State Public Speaking contest on March 3rd, good luck to those students.
