Annual Winter Band Concert

The Logan High School Instrumental Music Department will be presenting the annual Winter Concert in the Logan High School Theatre on Thursday, February 8, at 7:00 p.m. Director of Bands is Pam Price. Assistant Directors are Ben Wright and Jennifer Olis with Travis Pickrell as Percussion Instructor.

The Seventh Grade Band will open the concert with “ Liberty March” by James
Swearingen; “Incantation and Ritual” by Brian Balmages; and “Handclap” arranged byJohnnie Vinson.

The Eighth Grade Band will perform “Big Circus March” by Robert Foster, “The
Airships” by George Sweet, and “Take On Me” arranged by Paul Murtha. The Logan High School Jazz Band will perform “Hat Trick” by Carl Strommen; “Cold Duck Time” by Eddie Harris/Arr. Mark Taylor; “Front Burner” by Sammy Nestico; and“Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing” by Stevie Wonder/Arr. Paul Murtha.

The Senior High Concert Band will be performing “Call To Victory” by Karl King,
“Incantations” by Robert W. Smith, and “Dawn Of A New Day” by James Swearingen.

Admission to the concert is $2.00 for students and $3.00 for adults.

Upcoming events for the Instrumental Music Department include Spring Musical on
March 2-4; District 15 Band Competition for Senior High Band on March 9-10; Annual Spring Concert on May 1; Senior High Band Banquet on May 9; Graduation Ceremonies on May 25; Alumni Day Concert (Jazz Band) on May 26; Memorial Day Parade (High School Band) on May 28 and summer sectionals for High School Band May 29 - June 1.
