"A broad education in the arts helps give children a better understanding of their world…We need students who are culturally literate as well as math and science literate." –Paul Ostergard.

Fantastic Music & Art highlights from Union Furnace Principal Roger Nott:

Art and Music are two of the Specials students attend each week at Union Furnace Elementary.

Miss Woodburn, our Art teacher, believes in students doing their personal best. Through modeling and guidance, students participate in a variety of projects. In one of the pictures below, third grade students are creating cityscapes using arrays.

Students in Mrs. Short’s Music classes participate in a variety of activities and performances. In one of the pictures below, Kindergarten students are incorporating movements into a song they are practicing for their Spring program.

Art and Music continue to be a valuable part of our educational programming at Union Furnace Elementary.
