The Chief Logan FFA Forestry team placed third at the Ohio FFA Forestry Career
Development Event at Hocking College, Saturday, September 30, 2017. Twelve members from Logan competed in the event. They included; Brady Garren, Ashley Loy, Abigail Downs, Bethany Starlin, Kenneth Parsley, Emily Blackstone, Emma Moll, Victoria Sanders, Brooke Stivison, Justin Wilkins, Heidi McGrady, and Gracie Garren. Starlin, Wilkins, Blackstone, and Stivison were the top four individuals for Logan.
Teams from all over Ohio competed in the event. Contestants were tested on general
forestry principles, timber cruising, timber stand improvement, forest problems, diseases, disorders and insects, chainsaw part identification and troubleshooting, as well as forest specie and equipment identification.
The top five teams in the state include; Liberty Union, East Knox, Logan, Zane Trace
and Amanda Clearcreek.
