LHS National Honor Society
Logan High School
Submitted by: Kim Norway

Logan High School National Honor Society volunteered at the Southeastern Ohio Food Bank on March 18th. Twenty-six members, as well as NHS Advisor Kim Norway volunteered. The group worked in the warehouse putting together "senior boxes". This included an assembly line like production where canned beef, fruit, peanut butter, pasta and juice were packed into boxes; 15 pallets of boxes were packed with over 1500 boxes to be distributed throughout Southeastern Ohio.

The boxes were for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) which provides food boxes once a month to nutritionally at-risk, income eligible participants. CSFP food boxes are packed at the Southeastern Ohio Food Bank then delivered to local distribution sites once a month.

Other groups interested in volunteering at the Southeastern Ohio Food Bank may contact Mallory Ferguson at (740) 385-6813 to schedule a date.
