Shift Time: 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM
QUALIFICATIONS: Bidder must have passed the Cook’s test offered
by the school district and be able to meet qualifications as listed on the job description

TITLE: COOK/ASSISTANT COOK
Possess a working knowledge of cooking and food preparation equipment (experience preferred).
Be able to communicate and work well with others.
Must be able to relate and work with children in a positive manner.
Possess clean health habits.
Must have successfully passed Cook’s Test
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Must have good attendance.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs. regularly, occasionally up to 40 lbs., and capable of standing for long periods of time.
Head Cook and Food Service Director in cooperation with Building Principal
CONTRACT: 9 Month
Maintain kitchen work area, materials and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and orderly manner.
Cooperate and work with head cook to prepare a consistently pleasing food product.
Assist in the preparation and servicing of all menu items.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Order all supplies as required.
Monitor the instruction of student help in the cafeteria where applicable.
Store food in a proper and sanitary manner.
Perform major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and equipment at regularly scheduled intervals.
Check food items and supply shipments as they arrive at school.
Initiate daily cleaning and sterilization of all dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils.
Promote good public relations.
Attend in-service and training sessions as required.
Properly utilize and return leftovers as required.
Operate the POS System as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
