QUALIFICATIONS: Must have passed the most recent custodial test
offered by the Logan-Hocking Schools

Noon, Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Bus Garage / Administrative Building

Title: Custodian Afternoon Shift 3.75-Hour

Qualifications: This position requires that the person:

Have a thorough knowledge of approved cleaning procedures and the care of school buildings and grounds.
Be able to make minor repairs as needed.
Be able to conduct themselves properly around students and the general public.
Be in proper physical condition to perform the regular duties, plus be able to climb and lift at least
50 lb.
Possess a valid Ohio Drivers License and maintain a non-risk insurability rating.
Must have passed the most recent custodial test offered by the Logan-Hocking School District.
Must have good attendance.

Reports To: Supervisor of Building and Grounds.

Contract Status: 12 month

Time Schedule: 3:00 P.M. to 6:45 P.M.

Bus Garage 3:00 P.M. 4:20 P.M. (5 minute travel time)

Administrative Building: 4:25 P.M. 6:45 P.M.

General Duties include:

1. Care of the buildings.
2. Cleanliness and sanitation of building.
3. Economical and efficient use of supplies and the inventory of supplies and equipment.
4. Safety and health of pupils and teachers.
5. Removal of all fire hazards.
6. Obtaining permission of building Principal before leaving building during working
hours.
7. Exhibiting good public relations.
8. Cooperating with Building Principal and Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.
9. Keeping incidental items in repair.
10. Taking care of all emergencies and minor repairs.

General Duties Cont.

11. Being available when activities are held in the building.
12. Performing duties aside from routine, which may need attention.
13. Cleaning windows.
14. Keeping outside area clean.
15. Maintaining a clean and neat custodial storage area.
16. Other duties as assigned by the Food Service Supervisor and Supervisor of Buildings
and Grounds.

Specific Duties Include:

A. Bus Garage

1. Empty all trash in office area and bus drivers lounge
2. Disinfect trash cans
3. Dust all desks in office area
4. Clean and disinfect water fountain
4. Clean and disinfect all bathroom sinks, toilets, urinals in office area and
bus drivers lounge. Mop daily
6. Dust mop and wet mop office area
7. Vacuum entrance rugs daily

B. Administrative Building

Sweep porch and sidewalks daily
Sweep parking lot as needed
Police grounds daily
Sweep all offices & hallways, daily
Thoroughly dust all horizontal surfaces on Monday, Wednesday and
Friday
Clean window sills weekly
Empty all wastebaskets daily
Wash all interior windows as needed
Maintain adequate paper supply at copiers
Maintain recycling containers
Move various boxes as needed
Wash cups, etc. and put away daily
Arrange conference room for meetings
Check furnace filter regularly, replace monthly


Christmas break, Spring break, Summer months: During these times the Bus Garage will only need occasional attention. The extra time will be spent performing more detailed cleaning at the Administration Building, i.e shampooing carpet, washing window, washing wall, etc.
